GAGE, ARTHUR D., Jr. Skip ; of Livonia; a highly decorated retired Detroit Police Officer; died
suddenly Thursday, August 24, 2006; he was 63 years young. Beloved father of Timothy Michael
(Tricia) Gage of Waterford and Jennifer (Jeffrey) Teal of Waterford; dear grandfather of David,
Shawna, Brendan and Logan. Born and raised in Detroit, Michigan, Arthur served in the United
States Army and was very proud not only to serve his country but to serve on the Detroit Police
Department from January 1966 through June 1993. After Retirement the passion was now
ignited, and that his love of motorcycles brought him to Motor City Harley-Davidson where he
sold Harley-Davidson motorcycles for 12 years. Skip, was a long time member of the Motor City
Harley-Davidson Chapter and was the founding father of the Warthogs M/C. All were blessed to
call him Friend" and all were blessed when he called you Friend . When you think of Skip as we
all often do, we know that his handshake was his word, and his word was his bond. A man of
love, honor and loyalty stands tall, and Skip was as tall as they come. He was an Escort for
several Presidential motorcades and ln the Honor Guard at the Detroit Police Department.
Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 28, 2006, 10:30 a.m. at the RIVERSIDE CHAPEL,
Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home, 5630 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford. Officiating Pastor Ron E.
Lund, Detroit Police Chaplain. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday 2 to 5
and 7 to 9 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Detroit Police Benefit and Protective Association.
